The Best Adventure Boots

These Garerne G-Adventure boots are my first pair of riding boots and I love them. I thought that riding boots would be tight or uncomfortable however, these are pliable enough to feel comfortable and strong enough to wear off-road. I am truly happy that I got them. If you are looking for a great, affordable adventure boot, check them out!

Video transcript (boots only):

“So, These are Gaerne G-Adventure Boots. I’ve had them for almost two years now and I wear them every single time I ride. Let me give you a quick walk through.

So, They are Gaerne. They are full leather. They are made in Italy. They are soft. You can see that they can take a little abuse and they still hold up. One of the things I like is these toe pads. When you are shifting, you don’t really have to worry about tearing up the leather on the boot. And… Then… It’s a basic three buckle design. You have the three buckles here. The buckles have a screw inside so they are replaceable if you should break the buckle. There’s no extra ankle protection down here but I haven’t noticed that to be of any problem. The inside ankle, also, there is no protection there. You can see I scuff it up against the bike and against things often. The back is just straight leather and the front has a nice hard plastic shield right here with a cool Gaerne “G” on it.

I think they took about three days, or three rides, to break in. After that, I felt really really comfortable. I’ve worn them for, oh geez, 18 hours at most, in one ride. I haven’t had any discomfort. I haven’t gotten any sores, any blisters, or anything like that. They are extremely, extremely comfortable boots.

They are pretty easy to put on. When you pull open the flap here, there’s a flap inside here. It shows the productions date, or what I believe is the production date. And it essentially makes the boot waterproof. I haven’t had any big problems with water going through smaller things, (even) if you get a little splashing. But, of course, if you don’t have them secured at the top or if you’re wearing something that’s not waterproof above them. Or, if you tuck your pants into the boot instead of wrapping them over, you may end up getting water inside the boot. I haven’t had too many problems with water. And, the buckle is also very easy to clasp. The buckle fits right into a groove and snaps right in. The top two buckles are… Sorry! The bottom two buckles, I haven’t noticed any problems with. The top one doesn’t always like up perfectly. I think it can rotate and pivot a little bit so sometimes it can take a little finagling to get that one done but, like I said, I haven’t noticed any problems.

I’ve used them to go hiking. I’ve used them to just kind of walk around the city. The great thing about them too is because they’re an adventure boot, they have a sort of hiking style sole on the bottom which allows you to get good traction in a lot of different situations.

Yeah! Definitely, top notch boots! If you’re looking for a pair of boots that you can wear on long trips, that you can wear in the mountains, that you can wear all over; I definitely recommend these Gaerne Advanetures.”

This was filmed during the 2020 Coronavirus / COVID-19 “State of Emergency” in Japan.

2022 Update

I have been wearing these boots daily to commute. In Japan, the rain can be pretty heavy during rainy season and these boots are no longer waterproof. I might not trust them if you plan to use them a long time in rainy or extremely wet environments.

If I made a mistake by not taking care of them properly, please let me know in the comments.
